Turning the luddite into a computer nerd....the joys of technology!

As some of you may remember from previous trips, I have previously managed to do a blog using a small netbook over which I had complete control. Access to the internet in Myanmar was the aspect over which I had no control! Yes the netbook was basic and simple but it did the job.

However, being married to a technology addict means that using old-style equipment is NOT an option. This is the man who almost prays that a device will break so he can buy the latest and greatest. We now have 5 tablets and there are only 3 of us currently living at our house! Maybe the two dogs need one each??!!

So I now have a new tablet, a tablet stand, a bluetooth keyboard, a connector for the camera and USB port, and a connector for the USB to the tablet, and a mobile power pack in case the tablet is not charged and I get stuck in the middle of nowhere and need to do the blog, and two chargers to charge the tablet and the keyboard and a double adaptor.....and God knows what else.

There are two considerations here:
1. You may see me in the same outfits frequently as I'm sure I won't have room in my bag for many changes after I pack all of this equipment!
2. Do I have the faintest idea what to do with all of this technology?: good question!

After writing very detailed notes from my long training session with my husband I am now going to attempt the impossible!! Yes dear reader, I am GOINGTO DOWNLOAD A PHOTO AND INSERT IT INTO THIS BLOG! Degree of difficulty is a 9 1/2 at least!

So, you may have noticed the phots of an orchid and some wisteria in the previous blog: absolutely nothing to do with the W&P Conference - they were Ewan's test drive and teaching tools for me, so now I am on my own.

Hopefully you will see a lovely photo of the state of my packing.....which would be going better if I didn't have to do all of this training , downloading, etc etc to understand the technology before we leave.

Fingers crossed!

your totally bamboozled correspondent

Dianne
